About The Wall of Honor

The Wall of Honor was established at the African American Historical and Cultural Museum in 1996. The Wall of Honor is sponsored by State Center Community College District and recognizes the contributions of outstanding African-Americans.

Three local African-Americans were inducted into the State Center Community College District’s Wall of Honor at the African-American Historical and Cultural Museum on February 26, 2009. Ms. Dezie Woods, Dr. Isaac Okin and Dr. James Aldredge were honored for their contributions to Fresno area communities. The Wall of Honor event featured a four and half minute slide show presentation outlining the African-American experience through U.S. History and honoring past SCCCD Wall of Honor inductees. The slide show was produced by Katrina Neufeld of Neu Design and set to an audio mashup of Phacyde’s Runnin’ and select portions of President Barack Obama’s inaugural speech.
